If you want good hearty Slovenian and European food you don’t have to walk far. Sovdat - just within view of the main square in Bovec - is a typical Slovenian restaurant, simple and friendly. If you can forgive the decoration outside (fake flowers and seaweed green cushions), the garden is a pleasant environment with a great mountain view. Fish,  Wiener schnitzel and a variety of local dishes are all served here in big portions.
