Anton Bezenšek (1854-1915), a famous Slovene linguist, journalist and cultural ambassador to Bulgaria - came from a little village near Frankolovo (Bezenškovo Bukovje), a few kilometres north of Vojnik. Among his biggest achievements was the invention and adoption of shorthand for south Slavic languages - and the publication of a language learning book for German using a modern methodology. His birth-house, now a cultural monument, is open for tours by prior arrangement.
