The Republic of Slovenia is a parliamentary democracy. The president, Dr Danilo Türk, was elected in 2007. The prime minister is Janez Janša, since 2004. The next national assembly and prime minister elections are on October 8, 2008. The government consists of the PM and 15 ministers, of which two are without portfolio.
