For a place of it's size Ljubljana has a vibrant dynamic nightlife that would be the envy of much larger cities. While this is thanks in part to the huge proportion of students residing in the capital - university students alone account for nearly a quarter of the population - the variety of bars, pubs and clubs is a testament to the increasingly diverse tastes of the city's inhabitants. The IYP editorial team chose the finalists in the six categories below - and let our readers decide who was the best of the best.   As a DJ I have performed at clubs in the USA Europe Asia and Australia. Klub K4 is not only one of the best clubs in Ljubljana Klub K4 is one of my favorite clubs in the world!!!

  Ljubjana nightlife is waw! i like it a lot. expecially metelkova in the club Gala Hala or Gromka. there is almost every night something to do.You can choose if want to party on rock funk reggae d&b music..the best party for me is shishmish and zeleno sonce (at Gala Hala).

  When I was about to move to Ljubljana I thought that it has zero nightlife because of it's smallness. On my first evening there (Friday) I ended up dancing until 5a.m. in some club in Metelkova. It happened numerous times. Anyhow for me city doesn't have a great nightlife because of super cool clubs bars pubs concerts. It has it if you go for a glass of vine at 7pm and come home tired of dancing clubbing drinking at 4-5a.m. doesn't matter which day is in question and that happens every little in a while. Ljubljana has that.

I know it's your job as a guide to play booster but that's simply not true is it?Far too many similar places terrible cocktails no weekend nightlife (thanks largely to students going 'home') Metelkova on its last legs and the concert scene featuring almost exclusively veterans who can't get a gig anywhere else.A big shame because it could be so much better.
