When are you having a "best restaurant" poll? I had the joy of my first visit to Ljubljana last month (when I broke down on the A1 en-route to Greece)... sometimes Divine intervention is just the best thing!A delightful lady, Tmmka, from McCafe (A1) took me in hand. What a delighful, funny, pretty girl.. with a warm heart... she not only arranged for my vehicle recovery and garage, but presented me with a copy of Ljubljana in your Pocket to persuse for somewhere for my cat and I to stay over a cup of her excellent cappucino. She then helped us book into the Symbol Hostel for the weekend (great place... where the fun really began, as I met and made a soul-mate for life).We enjoyed a fantastic long weekend stolling around the delights of this wondeful city - it truly is a gem - enjoying the history, architecture and samling mnay of the bars and cafes.The highlight of our time together was a late-night visit to SOKOL (chosen after reading LIYP, of course!)... a truly memorable meal - Nouvelle Cuisine (thankfully mitigated by the biggest-ever plates) meets traditional Slovenian cooking! The food was fantastic, a chef truly in love with their calling; their own bottled beer is not to be missed, the ambience, the friendly staff... thank you to SOKOL and LIYP for making one of those wonderful memories which will last a lifetime.www.gostilina-sokol.comI'm waiting to vote...PS: (Sorry, I can't vote for my faovuite cafe - every one visited was so good...)
Where is Green Rabbit's - Pri Zelenem Zajcu???
I miss caffe metropol on this list. In my opinion they have the best coffe and service in the town.
