Slovenia's first ever winner of the prestigious Red Dot design award was fittingly won by Gorenje in 2005. Based in Velenje, Slovenia, it is one of the largest home appliances manufacturers in Europe and known worldwide for its leadership in the field of design. The winning products were the first washing and drying machines in the world to feature touch screens, and opened the door for many more Slovene Red Dot winners in the following years.
