Quite a few places around Maribor have wine cellars open for tastings and tours, but this one actually manages to cram an entire restaurant underneath its low-hanging vaulted brick ceiling. Located beyond the vineyards on the hill just north of the city centre, this friendly family-run place turns out an array of no-nonsense traditional Slovene cuisine to go with its extensive selection of locally produced wine. They also offer wine tours - call ahead to make arrangements or enquire about the details.
