Wi-Fi
There are now a number of places in Kyiv which provide Wi-Fi connections to the Internet both for mobile telephones, PDAs with web browsers and laptops with Wi-Fi support. Look for the Wi-Fi symbol in our guide. The service is free at a few hotels and restaurants, but usually the connection costs around 10Hr per hour. To access paid Wi-Fi connections, buy a prepaid card (worth 10, 20, 24, or 50Hr, usually good for one month from the day of activation). You can buy the cards at the reception stands in the hotels and at bars and restaurants.
GPRS & 3G
There are an increasing number of companies in Ukraine offering GPRS & 3G service. You need to have a GPRS-compatible telephone or modem (USB modems cost approximately 800-900Hr) to connect to the Internet. SIM-cards of GPRS standard can be found at any one of the service centres mentioned below. The same service centres can also refill your account and help with setting up a connection to the Internet.
