The museum was organised in 1987. It incorporates four memorial museums with preserved territory of garbed zone. Main elements of the zone are builings where families of Ukrainian cultural celebrities lived, they were the poetess Lesya Ukrainka, the famous composer Mykhailo Lysenko, the drama theatre actor, producer and theatrical leader Panas Saksahans’kyi, the writer Mykhailo Staryts’kyi. Thus, on the eve of the 19-20th centuries territory of the museum of today had naturally composed Ukrainian Cultural Centre of the finest music, poetry, theatre and art.
