Originally built in 1913 the Polonia Palace has seen it all, from a victory banquet hosted by Eisenhower to the Miss World girls back in 2006. The history dates back to the end of the partitions and Russian rule in the early 20th century, and, as the hotel owners say: "Polonia Palace Hotel... served as a reminder that Poland existed despite the lack of statehood."
Now, the space has been redone and the exterior has benefited from a full facelift. In the modern day, it dazzles amid its soot-clad neighbours.
