With the cafés putting their terrace tables outside, the parks turning green and the city polishing its streets after a long winter, another summer season arrives in Vienna.
In May, visitors should head over to the impressive MuseumQuartier Wien, where a festival kicks off their summer season – with plenty of more events and exhibitions to follow later in the year. This year Vienna has a special birthday to celebrate; the Prater amusement park is an amazing 250 years old and still going strong with new attractions added every year.
Our current expanded edition of Vienna In Your Pocket also has everything you need to know for a day at the landlocked city's beaches and other cool places to cool off or go wild.
Soon Vienna with be awash with foreign accents and tour buses – but in the lovely period of May and early June, the city is still just yours and ours.
