Driving & Parking in Vienna

share
Parking in central Vienna is expensive; the 20 public garages in the centre charge up to €5 per hour. Street parking tickets (€1 per 30 minutes) can be purchased from news agents (Trafiken), the offices of Wiener Linien, many petrol stations, major train stations and by SMS on the A1 mobile network. Day visitors to Vienna are better off using a Park & Ride facility in the outskirts (€3 per day) and taking the tram or U-Bahn to the city centre.
If you plan to drive on Austria's highways (all A and S roads) you'll need a vignette sticker on your windscreen costing €7.90 for 10 days, which can be purchased at petrol stations.
