Leanne sounds like you had a bad experience at Kaliska but I have been using the place for some years and never encountered any problems. You are right about the staff and the music generally playing is eclectic and interesting. As for your tattoo's many Polish men/women have them so I suspect you were simply unlucky in meeting a intellectually challenged neanderthal, no doubt en route from a PiS mass rally. Complain to the bar staff if you experience similar problems. The Polish police don't mess about when it comes to dealing with that kind of behaviour.

Probably one of the most unwelcoming bars i have ever visited in Poland. Full of pissed-up, aggressive, narrow minded idiots. Got threatened by a guy who obviously seemed to have issued with women who have visible tattoos. The top floor was quite chilled out, but the rest of the place was utter carnage. Set up is quite strange, with some of the toilet walls made of 1 way glass, meaning you can see everything going on in the bar whilst using facilites. bar staff were on the most part really good. Basically, avoid like the plague if you are in any way alternative.

Lodz Kaliska is the bread and butter of life in the city. The bar club is 3 stories and offers everything from a nice place to relax with friends live concerts and a packed (and i mean PACKED) dance floor on the weekends. But not to forget the art... The whole building is a museum to the artistic group "Lodz Kaliska" which the club is named after. The architecture photos and design of everything was taken into account. Not to mention one way glass within the ladies bathrooms create a different approach to the club. The staff is also very friendly speaks english and is out there to help you enjoy your time. If I could a rating of stars (*) this club would be 5*

I like Kaliska and now Krakowians do too. Good mix of people.

It's on a pricier side, but the atmosphere is great. Absolutely packed on weekends, be there around 8pm to get a table. Check out women's bathroom up on the floor, it's a curiosity I like to show to my visitors :)

yep, every bit as mental as it says. you don't notice it first, then come beer number X and you find yourself dancing to throwback music and chatting with nutty professors. and the party goes way late too.
