Kaunas' new bus station at Vytauto 24 is open after renovation and features shops, cafes and pitstops as well as the all-important platforms. It's about a 10-minute walk from there to the eastern end of Laisvės, and many of the city's hotels and attractions can be reached fairly comfortably on foot. The Old Town is about a 20-minute walk away. But if you're laden with luggage you might prefer to take a taxi. See Taxis for more information.
