Rieter-Park

The Rieter-Park has some lovely little secret corners as well as two stately villas which now house the Rietberg museum. Situated in Enge, the park was built in 1855 around the German merchant Otto Wesendonck’s villa. In 1871 it became property of the Rieter family, manufacturers from Winterthur and was finally bought by the city of Zurich and opened to the public in 1945. The park is set on a hillside from the top of which you get some great views of the Glarner Alps and the city.
