The premier visual arts festival in Belgrade, the October Salon has been an annual institution since its founding at the beginning of the 1960s. It is the most important manifestation of contemporary art in the country, featuring the finest artists from all over Serbia as well as those from further afield. The 2018 event features an exhibition called ‘The Marvellous Cacophony’, presenting Serbian art in an international context while doffing the proverbial cap to the immensely complex political scene in the region.
