Humboldt Forum

  Schlossplatz 5, Mitte ,   Berlin-Mitte         18 Feb 2024
Good things come to those who wait. Berlin’s newest landmark is a beauty, proving once again (if such things needed to be proven) that blocky architecture more than has its place in the aesthetically admired. The Humboldt Forum styles itself as “more than a museum,” and we are inclined to agree. For one, it is a beautiful structure, proving once more (if such things need to be proven) that blocky architecture can be every bit as striking as more celebrated styles.

Opened digitally in 2020 and then to the public in 2021, the Humboldt Forum is a triumph of thought and curiosity, an incredible journey through culture, history, academia and style, a place that encourages inquisitive minds as much as investigative ones. It is a vast building that makes the most of every inch it possesses through events, exhibitions, education and entertainment, bridging the divide between the historical and the cultural. Many exhibits and events held at the Humboldt Forum are free of charge, but it is best to double-check the website or social media before arriving. There are also some food and drink options, should all that culture make you a little peckish.
