Although his stay was shorter than the last visit from your Aunt Polly (May-September 1785), Friedrich Schiller wasted no time to create one of his greatest masterpieces, the Ode to Joy, to which Beethoven later added the music. The house, built in 1717 and restored in 1997/98, contains over 100 articles from one of Germany’s greatest writers.
