St. Elisabethkirche

Dating from 1281, St. Elisabethkirche was originally the house of worship of the Order of German Knights. The Classical structure that stands on this spot today was built from between 1780 and 1885. The huge 50m dome was badly damaged during WWII, but has been restored to its former glory, topped by a huge cross, supported by marble columns and decorated with the twelve apostles.
