If you're staying Broadbeach, the venerable Oasis Shopping Centre is likely to be a frequent port of call, as it sits in the heart of the action on prime real estate between Victoria Park and the beach. While it's come to be somewhat overshadowed (quite literally) by glistening high rises to both the north and south, it still boasts some 100 shops, including a large Woolworths on the ground floor, as well as plenty of tons of services such as Australia Post, dry cleaners, doctors and dentists, massage parlour and a gym. Recent expansion has added space for some new dining options, including the Loose Moose, and more plans are on the horizon. If you're coming by car, there's ample park (entrance on Charles Avenue) with the first three hours free. Unfortunately for train aficionados, the iconic monorail that once connected the shopping centre to the Jupiters Hotel and Casino complex across the highway was shuttered in January 2017 after nearly three decades of service.
