Inkjar Mosque

Debar     more than a year ago
The oldest surviving Muslim house of worship in Debar dates from 1468. Built on the orders of the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror (1432-1481), the interior of the building’s much like any other provincial mosque, although its exterior appearance, complete with a single minaret, is rather beautiful. Surrounded by an overgrown cemetery featuring several ancient and fascinating gravestones, find it on an unnamed road up the hill from the town’s main pedestrian street.
