Pretoria National Botanical Gardens

Pack a picnic and head to the gardens for a walk along its paved nature trails. There are over 70 hectares to explore set in and around a rocky quartzite koppie (an Afrikaans word meaning hill) which has a small waterfall running down it. Botanical delights include aloe gardens filled with indigenous vegetation and weird and wonderful plants from Madagascar, all of which are very well labelled and explained.

Facilities include two cafes serving decent lunch fare such as sandwiches, salads and burgers and super frothy milkshakes.
