Artist collective and multi-brand accessory shop Z-A etc celebrates the life and works of American fashion icon and businesswoman Iris Apfel in this exhibition of wearable art. Iris and Carl Apfel started textile firm Old World Weavers in 1950 and Iris worked with the wives of nine American presidents to design the interiors of the White House between 1950-1992. Apfel turned 96 this year and showed no signs of slowing down taking part in photo shoots with magazines like Vogue and Elle, always impeccably dressed in her trademark oversized glasses, and continuing to design jewellery and accessories.

The exhibition, A Tribute to Iris Apfel, takes place in 27 Boxes, a quirky shopping centre in Melville built from shipping containers and features work by a variety of local artists and brands including Mambu Designs, whose delicate ostrich eggshell jewellery has been featured in the Design Indaba.

The exhibition opens on Wed Nov 15 at 18:00 in conjunction with the 27 Boxes night market.
