In her latest solo exhibition, Heaven and Earth, Bronwen Findlay takes the mysterious Mediaeval the “The Hunt of the Unicorn” tapestries, as a starting point for exploring an imaginative animal kingdom in painting, linocuts and mosaics.

Findlay describes her work as about “everything – about the sky and the earth under it" and in Heaven and Earth she uses the scenes of those Mediaeval tapestries as a starting point, merging its vivid visuals with her own concepts and frame of reference. Manipulating colour with thick brushstrokes, Findlay brings to life flowers, dogs and rabbits while her ceramic and glass tile mosaics continue the joyous, fairytale-like theme.
