With a Wednesday night ‘Rock’ menu created by some of the biggest local music acts (with co-owners Ari Shapiro and Lori Baar ensuring the burger options are more easy listening than clashing heavy metal) Dukes’s cool quotient is high. They bake their own buns, pound their own patties and emphasise the use of fresh produce and saucy home made relishes. The cheese burgers are legendary and comes in many variations and the vegetarian option is tops. Dukes has a busy bar area that leads onto the street, and a roomy and sheltered courtyard out back, making it easy to linger.
