The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra's popular World Symphony Series returns to the Linder Auditorium for its Early Spring Season from August 21 to September 13, presenting an exciting four week season of ten classical concerts that see the orchestra collaborating with leading local and international guest conductors and soloists.

The first week of the Early Spring Season kicks off with concerts on Wed Aug 21 and Thu Aug 22, plus a morning performance on Fri Aug 23 at 11:00, with Brazilian-Israeli conductor Debora Waldman returning to the Joburg podium to lead the orchestra in the opening programme of the season. The week one programme includes Tchaikovsky’s Capriccio Italien, Cesar Franck’s Symphony in D Minor and a brilliant guest appearance by 21-year-old Russian musical marvel, Daniel Kharitonov, who'll be playing Franz Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1

Week 1 Programme: Piano Concerto No. 1 by Franz Liszt (performed by Daniel Kharitonov), Capriccio Italien by Tchaikovsky, Symphony in D Minor by Cesar Franck.
