The Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra's popular World Symphony Series returns to the Linder Auditorium for its Early Spring Season from August 21 to September 13, presenting an exciting four week season of ten classical concerts that see the orchestra collaborating with leading local and international guest conductors and soloists.

The second week of the Early Spring Season is happening on Wed Aug 28 and Thu Aug 29 with distinguished Russian conductor Daniel Raiskin leading the orchestra for the evening. The Week Two programme includes performances of Samuel Barber's iconic 1936 masterpiece Adagio for Strings, Johannes Brahms’s First Symphony and German romantic composer Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto in G Minor led by the young guest Chinese violin soloist Susanne Hou. 

Week Two Programme: Violin Concerto in G Minor by Max Bruch (performed by Susanne Hou), Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber, First Symphony by Johannes Brahms.
