Renowned American writer and essayist James Baldwin’s last unfinished manuscript Remember This House comes to life in the Academy Award-nominated documentary I Am Not Your Negro. The film revisits the deaths of three civil rights activists Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and Medgar Evers, which Baldwin had been writing about for his book (which remained unfinished following his death in 1987).

Using archive interview footage of Baldwin, photos, newsreels and excerpts from Hollywood films, director Raoul Peck gives Baldwin's sharp analysis of race and class in modern America a fresh look, and uses later examples of police violence and public unrest such as the Ferguson protests and the death of Rodney King to weave together a complex picture of race and discrimination in America.
