The Johannesburg Holocaust & Genocide Centre in partnership with the Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung present this powerful photography exhibition by leading photojournalists Alon Skuy and James Oatway. The exhibition marks the tenth anniversary of the shocking outbreak of xenophobic violence which swept through South Africa in 2008, with senseless brutality aimed specifically at Africans from beyond South Africa's borders leaving more than 60 people dead. The exhibition documents the continuing flare ups of xenophobic violence in South Africa since 2008 and serves as a reminder to never forget the scourge of xenophobia that lurks in South African society and to call for action against it.

The exhibition opens on Thu May 17 from 18:30 with a discussion led by guest speakers Professor Tawana Kupe and war photographer João Silva. To attend the exhibition opening you must RSVP to dowi@jhbholocaust.co.za or call +27 11 640 3100.
