Lawyers Against Abuse is a non-profit organisation that strives to tackle gender-based violence in South Africa by offering legal services and psychosocial support to women and their families who are affected by violent crimes. To raise funds for this important cause, this non-profit holds this fundraising art auction in conjunction with Russell Kaplan Auctioneers and True North Events.

Among some of the many highlights of the paintings, sculptures, photographs and ceramics on auction are artworks by established and emerging artists that include Kim Berman, Sanusi Olatunji, Kate Gottgens, Conor Mccreedy and William Kentridge, photography by the acclaimed artist and activist Zanele Muholi and a host of exquisite printworks from artists based at Artist Proof Studios.

Tickets to attend the art auction are free. The art auction starts at 18:00 for 18:30 and the auction preview is open from 13:00 until 18:00. Following the auction Justice Edwin Cameron and journalist Ferial Hafajee will be in conversation at a special three-course gala dinner (tickets for the gala dinner cost R800).
