A delight for vegetarians or vegans who aren't usually abundantly catered for in Joburg, the Lexi's menu is extensive and interesting, bringing in unique flavours and more obscure ingredients. For breakfast there's a choice of loaded toasts (including great vegan options and gluten-free breads), spinach and kale scramble made with eggs or tofu for the vegans, quinoa porridge and super filling healthy 'smoothie bowls'.
Signature mains include 'the Italian stallion' - roasted aubergine on crispy polenta with roasted tomatoes, broccoli, almond ricotta and basil pesto and an array of burgers made with a variety of patties including mushroom-based burgers, sweet potato and chickpea burgers and the intriguing 'Warrior Hemp burger' made with peas, spinach, butter beans and hemp hearts. There's also a free-range beef burger (the only meat option on the menu) for any non-vegetarian lunch companions who are still struggling to get to terms with living a meat-free lifestyle for a few hours.
