Celebrating the birthday of Nelson Mandela and the contribution he made to the country, Lebo's Soweto Backpackers is hosting this community event which aims to bring some greenery into the neighbourhood. This Monday July 18, Lebo's aims to plant at least 67 new trees in the community with the help of volunteers. One tree costs R100 and the digging and planting starts from 13:00.<br /> <br /> Other Mandela Day events taking place at the backpackers include the Mandela Trail Cycle Tour which follows the footsteps of Mandela's life in Soweto (10:00-12:00 costs R250 per person) and a movie screening hosted in the beach-style backyard of the backpackers of <em>Long Walk to Freedom</em> starring Idris Elba (from 19:00).<br /> <br /> To arrange your donation of a tree contact Lebo's on <a href="mailto:lebo@sowetobackpackers.com">lebo@sowetobackpackers.com</a>
