The Metrorail commuter train service links up the city centre with locations in Soweto, the East Rand, West Rand and Pretoria. Park Station acts as its main hub. The service is extremely slow, very poorly maintained and has a reputation for overcrowding and crime. There are occasionally special trains available for those visiting major events at the FNB Stadium, otherwise the Metrorail is best avoided.
