Top tastings
Up first is an exclusive tasting of chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon at Parkhurst's boutique liquor store Dry Dock, in collaboration with Winemag.co.za.Every year, Winemag.co.za releases the Prescient Report in various categories based on the outcome of a blind tasting of wines entered within the category. Each report includes key findings, tasting notes for the top wines, a buyer’s guide and scores on the 100-point quality scale for all wines entered.
On November 15, Dry Dock is hosting a tasting of the top ten chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon wines from 2022’s Prescient reports. The event, held at Dry Dock’s neighbouring shop Nice on 4th, offers a tasting of 20 delicious winning wines across the afternoon and evening. The ticket includes wine tasting, a complimentary wine glass, and paired canapés throughout the tasting. Please note: the dress code is smart casual.

Beaujolais all day
If bold cabernet is not your style, how about some fruity beaujolais? Beaujolais is a light-bodied red wine generally made of thin-skinned Gamay grapes. In France, the annual Beaujolais Nouveau festival is celebrated on the third Thursday of November to mark the release of new wines in the Beaujolais region.Winebar, the conspicuously named wine bar within Father Coffee roastery, is hosting a beaujolais festival right here in Joburg in collaboration with Radford Dale Imports. On November 19, Winebar is pouring 25 expressions of Gamay all day, including nine crus and three rare bottlings of Cape Gamay.
Also on offer on the day is a Provençal menu of sharing plates inspired by the region. Tickets are limited and will not be available at the door.

Fourways Farmers Market SIP festival – a fun wine tasting picnic in the park. On November 19 and 20, FFM is hosting a relaxed wine festival with live music, food stalls, and great wine! Bring blankets and umbrellas to stretch out on the beautiful lawns at Modderfontein Reserve.
The festival is pouring red, white and rosé from excellent South African wineries including Babylonstoren, Saxenburg, and Waterford Estate, and popping bottles from Valdo and Graham Beck.
The ticket includes wine tasting and a complimentary wine glass, and there will be delicious food on sale like cheese, olives and paella to compliment every type of wine.
