Braamfontein's newest cultural venue, The Forge on Reserve Street, presents the first concert in its new exploratory music series Off the score. The series aims to harness and promote various alternative musical sub-genres and showcase the diversity of the local 'exploratory music' scene that exists beyond the parameters of mainstream sounds. Each edition invites a group of unique upcoming local artists to perform their own alternative brand of music, featuring everything from the seemingly contradictory 'electroacoustic' genre to the intriguing 'musique concrète' movement and other improvisational, experimental and avant-garde forms of music.

This month's edition features Daniel Gray, whose musical interests lie in the creation of immersive, interactive sonic environments and collective improvisations, Joburg-based experimental musician Healer Oran whose work is described as "inhabiting an intersection between harsh industrialism, psychedelic melancholia and free improvisational abstraction" and Behr (aka Emile Hoogenhout), known for his use of sequencing techniques to mix field recording, sampling and live drums, guitar and piano.

Note that you are welcome to bring your own food and drinks.

The Forge is located at 87 De Korte Street (cnr Reserve Street), Braamfontein.
