With its open kitchen, cool face brick interiors, and splashes of colour recalling Joburg spring jacaranda blooms Onenineone offers contemporary cuisine with stylish flourish. The a la carte menu is seasonal, and dishes are elegantly plated and infused with local flavour, such as buttered biltong polenta served with the braised beef short rib, and a starter of smoked blesbok loin. From the bounteous breakfast buffet to the evening a la carte menu, Onenineone shows an admirable dedication to farm-to-fork dining.

In addition to onenineone's inventive and always evolving a la carte menu, the restaurant hosts regular events including the popular Kitchen Party, a fun evening of fine food and wine where you get to don an apron and explore the kitchen with Onenineone's chefs. At each edition a creative new once-off five course menu is conjured up especially for the party, designed to both reflect the season and to pair with wines from guest winemakers.

Those who follow the rule that breakfast is the most important meal of the day will be particularly delighted with the restaurant's farmer's market style breakfast buffet. Bringing a fresh, healthy and organic approach to the classic breakfast buffet there's a focus on carefully sourced, local ingredients that are completely GMO-free.

The breakfast harvest tables are piled high with a bountiful choice of fresh and delicious options including immune boosting tonics and home brewed Kombucha (in addition to the usual classic juices), a variety of freshly baked breads and muffins (including gluten-free and paleo options), full fat, hand-strained yoghurt sourced from a local farm, a fantastic house speciality grain-free muesli and an upgraded waffle and flapjack station where you have the option to top off your sweet breakfast offerings with unpasteurised and unfiltered raw honey from a local apiary.

Another highlight are the eggs with three different egg stations serving gourmet omelettes (there's even a vegan option made with a chickpea base), poached eggs and a special shakshuka station where you can get freshly made North African style skillet eggs baked in the restaurant's pizza oven.
