Hong Kong-based art collectives Sangwoodgoon and HK Farm, consisting of farmers, artists and designers, bring you a body of works produced by the collectives, and their broader community, over the past five years. The exhibition showcases experiments in farming, agricultural practice and social engagement. To the participants, these works seek to portray their toil and connect artistic portrayals of the land with the physical working of the land.

Parallel Lives at Goethe-Institut presents land as both a physical site and a fertile terrain of the imagination. Above all, the exhibition takes a stance on some of the socio-political and economic issues that impinge on land ownership. Land in Hong Kong is predominantly owned by the state and those occupying it can be disposessed for commercial development. The works from this exhibition challenge "the conceptions of unsustainable consumption of natural resources and the destructive dialectic of capitalism".
