Reinventing Materiality is a group exhibition by an exciting lineup of emerging artists. With works by artists from South Africa, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana, the exhibition challenges known conceptual territories, seeking out ways in which contemporary artists can create and heighten relationships between their audiences and their artworks. Artists exhibiting include 2015 ABSA L'Atelier Merit Award winner Gideon Appah, Cape Town-based Zimbabwean artist Ronald Muchatuta, and mixed-media artist Ndabuko Ntuli (best known for his complex and multi-layered artworks made up of recycled trash and found objects).
