One of our favourite South African decor design brands Rialheim specialises in quirky and functional ceramic design items that are uniquely South African, with an updated retro, humorous feel. Formerly in Linden and Rand Stream,  the studio's flagship store has now found a new home in Parkhurst mixing a uniquely Joburg heritage with cool fashion, decor and design stores and friendly cafes and restaurants.

As any good store specialising in beautiful decorative items should be, Rialheim's flagship store in Parkhurst is quite simply gorgeous. A glistening feature wall plastered with Rialheim's bespoke ceramic tile range – "a three-dimensional and textured alternative to wallpaper" –  greets you at the entrance and statement lamps, massive teardrop-shaped ceramic plant holders, bespoke light pendants and quirky wall decor abound.

We have always been fans of Rialheim's statement plates, bowls and platters which come variously shaped as skulls or hippos or embellished with whimsical elephants or piglets, as well as their elegant vases and beautiful little plant pots that have the power to transform any humble balcony garden. To this range of household ceramics comes a new collection of statement table lamps (the French bulldog which carries the lamp cable in its mouth is particularly adorable) and Rialheim's unique tile range.
