SAB World of Beer

Founded in 1888 to satisfy the thirst of Johannesburg's gold rush miners, the mega-brewer SAB Miller has since conquered the planet and produces dozens of world-renowned brands including Peroni, Grolsch, Carling and Pilsner Urquell. The World of Beer tour is a light-hearted, multi-sensory experience tracing the history of all things beer, from ancient Egyptian times to the present day.

Highlights include learning how the traditional sour African sorghum beer umqombothi is made (and of course tasting a fresh batch afterwards) and enjoying a crisp, cold Castle lager in the authentic replicas of a 19th-Century South African pub and a swinging 1970s shebeen. You will also learn exactly how SAB Miller makes its beer in the brewing hall before winding up at the rooftop bar where you can enjoy two complimentary beers of your choice.

Tours last approximately 80 minutes (including drinking stops) and leave every 30 mins. Beer tasting includes a presentation of four local beers and two international beers.
