In The Island, photographer and filmmaker Simon Gush looks at the movement of people and resources between South Africa and its landlocked neighbour Lesotho, investigating the dependency and dislocation that characterises the relationship between the two countries. The exhibition includes a new film Invasion, a re-enactment of a first-person account of South Africa's military intervention in Lesotho in 1998. In 1998 700 South African troops were deployed to quell the violence following a controversial election.
