Award-winning satirist, actor and social activist Pieter-Dirk Uys brings his memoir The Echo of a Noise to life in this one-man show. In this intimate and riveting performance Uys reveals the man behind his most famous characters such as Tannie Evita and Bambi Kellermann.

Uys takes off the eyelashes for a journey through his public and private life, exploring his quirks and personal mythologies, as well as his foundational influences; his father Hannes Uys and mother Helga Bassel.

Uys describes The Echo of a Noise, as the tale of “a boy who was stricken by the disease to please from an early age, overshadowed by church and school and a very strict father.” Uys uses the show as a platform to share his secrets with the audience. After all, as he explains, "I think now that I’ve passed that road sign that says You can speed over 70, I can leave the security blankets of characters and the disguise of monsters, madams and moffies and just tell the stories behind the story.”
