The setting is modelled on Joburg's grand historic colonial architecture, and in particular the architecture of Sir Herbert Baker whose original work can be found along the Westcliff and Parktown ridges where the city’s mining Randlords once lived.
The decor is a stylishly quirky and colourful mix, with great attention to detail and an emphasis on luxury. Beds are king-sized and rooms are themed. The Courtyard suites look onto the pool area and also are designed for working visits with comfortable work stations and high-speed wifi.
The restaurant specialises in contemporary Mediterranean dishes plus some classic South African meat dishes and is open to non-residents for Sunday lunch.
