The opening night of performances on Friday kicks off with gigs by SAMA award-winning alternative Afro-soul singer Nomisupasta and long-running Joburg Afro-psychedelic music collective The Brother Moves On. Composer and pianist Nduduzo Makhathini headlines the Saturday night programme alongside fellow award-winning jazz artist Gabi Motuba. The final day of the UJ Jazz Weekend finishes off with a family fun day and Jazz Jam picnic on the UJ Arts Centre piazza and a musical programme of excerpts from the South African Song Book sung by Titi Luzipo and Spha Mdlalose.
