This year for Valentine's Day The Course, one of Sandton Central's most elegant restaurant-bars located diagonally opposite the Sandton Gautrain, is hosting an old school hip hop dinner themed Crushin' at The Course. The soundtrack promises to be the best old school loved-themed beats while the leisurely three-course dinner menu pops with contemporary flavours complemented by a chai-dusted, bubbly-topped welcome cocktail.
Dishes on the menu include a choice of Caprese salad served with Buffalo mozzarella, exotic tomatoes, basil and avocado or beef carpaccio served with a basil and broccoli salad, brûléed oranges, caperberries and a Grana Padano foam. For mains choices include char-grilled rib-eye steak on the bone served with pearl onion tarte tatin and a marsala mushroom sauce; mustard and maple-glazed salmon served with citrus couscous and dill crème fraîche or a vegetarian tart filled with ricotta, wild mushroom and a spiced grape compote, accompanied by a classic ratatouille and a crisp parmesan shard.
End off the meal on a sweet note with berry cheesecake served with white chocolate bark, almond praline and elderflower and berry gel or an espresso panna cotta, served with a salted caramel sauce, seasonal berries, cookie dough ice cream and walnut crumble.
The Valentine's dinner costs R450 per person and can be booked online here at webtickets.
