Bergpark Wasserspiele water features
Wed, Sun & public holidays; 1 July, 5 Aug, 2 Sept
Enjoy the magnificent water features of the Bergpark as the water streams through between 14:00-16:00. On the first Sat of each month there's an additional lit-up show at 21:45 (2 Sept at 20:45) with festivities beforehand at Wilhelmshöhe castle. See also www.beleuchtete-wasserspiele.de.

Concerts
The Orangerie restaurant has free live music every day of the documenta festival. The Kulturzelt on the riverbank has German and international acts every Wed-Sat from 30 June to 19 August.

Herkules 300 – Rebirth of a hero
A special exhibition about the 300-year-old statue of Hercules, presenting the original Greek myth, the historical statue designs that were based on an ancient statue discovered in Rome, drawings and photographs as well as contemporary views of the demigod superhero.

Festivals

3-5 June
Herkules 300 years birthday weekend
The city's crowning glory, the statue of Hercules at the top of the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, was inaugurated 300 years ago. To celebrate our demigod's auspicious birthday, visit the park for a weekend of free admission to all Bergpark attractions, special events and tours and of course the chance to see the Wasserkunst cascades and fountains spilling into action, wonderfully lit up at night.

9-10 June
Frühlingsfest Spring Festival
Music, food, culture and family fun; performances by among others Neonschwarz, Anonimi, Mykket Morton (Fri) and RasgaRasga, Rue Royale, Sebastian Sturm & Exile Airline (Sat). Admission free, Sat evening €5.

Classic car rally and show in the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe.

Zissel Festival
Volksfest festival around the river Fulda, with boat races, waterskiing shows, live music, fairground attractions, fireworks, food and drinks. More information: www.zissel.de.
