The world-famous pianist Elena Bashkirova accompanied by the National Radio Symphony Orchestra led by Simone Young will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's  Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, K. 467. Now for a little bit of trivia: this particular piano concerto is often referred to as the "Elvira Madigan concerto" since the second movement was featured in the 1967 Swedish film Elvira Madigan. The famous Andante is also played in the 1977 Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me. The second part of the concert will feature Anton Bruckner's Symphony No. 3 in D minor (original version). Bruckner dedicated his symphony to Richard Wagner and is sometimes known as his "Wagner Symphony". The concert will take place on the 22nd of November, at 7.30 pm.
