Carpacciov Trg     more than a year ago
For much of the past millennium salt production served an important role along Slovenia's coastal region, with documented exploitation of the salt pans dating from as early as 1182. Taking up the lion's share of Carpaccio Square on the western edge of the old town is the Taverna building, which formerly served as a salt warehouse before becoming at various times an inn, a fish market and of course a tavern.
