This temporary exhibit tells the story of how the railway - one of the most important inventions of the 19th century - functioned in Kraków's urban space, and played a crucial, though not always obvious, role in the city's development. Presenting Kraków's entire railway history via unique documents, designs, souvenirs and extensive photographs of objects and rolling stock from different periods of its development, as well as equipment and tools indispensable in the daily work on the railways, visitors also have the opportunity to learn about the changing ethos and working culture of railwaymen in different historical periods. The exhibition is accompanied by a varied educational programme, which includes modelling workshops, lectures, guided walks around Kraków and museum lessons.
