The exhibition presents the collection of mostly oil paintings by Jan Cybis, one of the most well -known Polish colourists, the leader of the Kapist movement. The paintings are displayed side by side with the extensive collection of letters written to the artist  by Józef Czapski, a Polish artist, member of the Kapist movement, author, critic and an ardent pacifist despite being part of the military. The letters, imaginatively composed, covered with notes and watercolour sketches are a fascinating memento of their friendship, as well as the examples of the art of painting and most of all of the lost art of letter writing.
